Submit to Me

Christ in the Storm on the Sea of Galilee Ludolf Backhuysen, 1695

Submit to me, all ye powers;
I command thee!
Yield to my orders,
To my infinite superiority…

I am the One
Of whom all have spoken,
I carry within
The one true token…

I am the Light
In thy eternal darkness;
The soothing breeze
In thy burning furnace…

I command the skies,
And humble the seas;
To the doors of heaven
I hold the keys…

Thy one true savior
From thy hour of doom;
Thy happiness and joy,
Thy freedom from gloom…

So yield to me, all ye powers;
I command thee;
From the bounds of death
I give thee liberty…
